PREAMBLE

These competition rules (hereinafter referred to as the "Rules") set out the rules for participation in the Stairs Design Awards competition (hereinafter referred to as "the Competition"). The Rules are intended to govern the relationship between, on the one hand, the organiser of the Competition and, on the other hand, the candidates participating in the Competition.

By participating in the Competition, candidates expressly accept and undertake to respect the rights and obligations set out in these Rules.

ARTICLE 1 - COMPETITION ORGANISER

The Competition is organised by PBM Groupe, SAS, registered in the Lyon Trade and Companies Register under number 483 335 097 and whose registered office is located at 97 allée Alexandre Borodine, Bâtiment Cèdre 2, 69800 Saint-Priest, France (hereinafter, "the Organiser"). The Organiser is a French group specialising in the prefabrication of concrete elements for construction. As the undisputed leader in its sector, its mission is to satisfy, through innovation, the growing demand for precast concrete products and solutions.

The Organiser specialises in prefabricated concrete staircases, which make up a large part of its business and whose success is intrinsically linked to the diversity of its product range and its role as a driver of innovation in this sector.

The Organiser is the sole contact for the candidates and is responsible for the implementation of all tasks related to the design and organisation of the Competition. ARTICLE 2 - PURPOSE OF THE COMPETITION

Candidates are invited to design an innovative staircase project, with a strong identity, in order to become a key architectural element, well beyond its initial functional role (hereafter, the "Project"). The candidates will give free rein to their imagination and creativity to design a staircase that is radically different from existing staircases, with no other constraints than :

the use of mainly concrete, and
that the staircase retains its essential function as a staircase.

Other materials can also be used, provided that the use of concrete remains obvious. In addition to being original, the staircase must comply with current accessibility regulations and be feasible.

The competition also aims to help students develop their thinking and make their architectural ideas known. It gives them visibility in the architecture and construction sector.

ARTICLE 3 - CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

The competition is free and open to all students enrolled in schools of architecture in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Luxembourg, England and Germany for the year 2022 - 2023. Candidates may enter either individually or in a team consisting of at least one student architect, which may also include other student architects and/or an engineering student. However, the team may not exceed 3 people. Each member of the team participating in the competition must be a student and hold a student card. At the time of submission of the Competition, all the members of the team must have filled in the online registration form and will be considered as co-authors of the Project in the same way as the representative of the team.

ARTICLE 4 - REGISTRATION PROCEDURE

Registration is a prerequisite for participation in the Competition. Registration is open from the launch date: 7 October 2022, until 10 January 2023 (until noon). Each candidate or team of candidates must register online via the WiiN application platform, accessible from the website: www.pbm-stairsdesignawards.fr or directly at https://www.wiin-organizers. com/en/applications/6294:

Copy of the student card or school certificate of the current year Only the applicant or the team representative will receive an acknowledgement of receipt by email. A confirmation email containing a registration number allocated to the applicants will then be sent. This number is automatically annotated on the submitted project. This email confirms the registration and contains the link to the candidate's or team's participation file.

Each candidate or team of candidates may only submit one and only one Project. Questions concerning the registration procedure may be sent by email until the closing date for registration to the following address: communication@pbm.fr.

ARTICLE 5 - COMPETITION PROCEDURE

Projects must be completed and submitted in French or English. The submission of the Candidates' Project will take place in two phases:

1. The first phase is open to all candidates wishing to take part in the Competition and is subject to a first jury. The deadline for the submission of the Project is 14 February 2023 (until noon)

2. The second phase is aimed at the candidates selected during the first jury among the candidates who submitted their Project.

In accordance with phase 1, a first selection will take place from 17 February to 28 February 2023 during which the jury will select 10 finalists. The Organiser will announce the selection of finalists on 2 March 2023. All Projects that comply with the rules of these Rules will be displayed on the website www.pbmstairsdesignawards.fr, as well as on all the Organiser's social networks (Facebook and LinkedIn) from 2 March 2023. Internet users will be called upon to vote for the People's Choice Award from among all the Projects displayed until 29 March 2023. The ten finalist Projects will be decided by the jury during the Awards ceremony on 2 April 2023. The Organiser's employees will also be invited to vote for their favourite Project, thus designating the PBM Award. The jury will reveal the three winners of the Competition as well as the People's Choice Award and the PBM Award during the Awards Ceremony. 1st phase: content of the Project delivered by the candidates The Projects and all the required documents must be sent in extractable PDF format (except where another format is expressly required by these Rules) via the WiiN application platform, which can be accessed directly at the following address: https://www.wiin-organizers.com/fr/applications/6294 The candidate or the proxy of the team of candidates must fill in the following information fields:

The registration number (automatically filled in)
The name of the project
The building of destination
The materials used
The number of steps
A short description of the project (100 words maximum)

The file must contain all of the following documents together:

Main image of the staircase in its entirety (in JPEG format)
Additional images (in JPEG format)
Project presentation file (in PDF format) including :
A description of the project (choice of artistic approach, technical performance, technical details, details on the rendering)
An A2 portrait size plate with a 1:50 scale plan of the staircase
A portrait size A2 plate with a 1:50 scale elevation of the staircase
Any other information deemed useful

2nd phase:

presentation at the final jury The presentation of the Projects of the finalists selected by the first jury must contain the following elements

A PowerPoint presentation of maximum 5 minutes, followed by a 5-minute discussion with the jury
A1 or A0 format panels for the exhibition of the Project
Any additional document for the exhibition of the Project that the candidates deem useful for their presentation Any presentation that does not comply with the rules set out in these Rules may, if the jury so decides, result in the immediate and definitive elimination of the candidate or team. The scale of all graphic and presentation documents must be specified on all documents and the orientation must be specified on all plans. It is the responsibility of each candidate or team of candidates to ensure that the graphic representation of their Project can be easily reproduced for future publications.

ARTICLE 6 - COMPOSITION OF THE JURY

The jury will be composed of members such as :

Architects
Members of the Association of Architects
Representatives of the Organiser The composition of the jury may change during the organisation and implementation of the Competition, at the discretion of the Organiser.

ARTICLE 7 - EVALUATION CRITERIA

The jury will pay particular attention to the search for an innovative solution that highlights the use of concrete. The jury will take into account the compliance of the Projects with these Rules and may decide to exclude immediately and definitively any Project that does not comply with the Rules.

In any case, the jury will choose the finalists, as well as 3 winners, at its sole discretion and by a majority of the jury panel. The evaluation criteria taken into account by the jury are as follows

Originality of the project
Aesthetics
Technical feasibility
Quality of the oral presentation
Compliance with the rules and regulations
Precision of the project
Marketability
Compliance with regulations (accessibility in particular) These evaluation criteria are subject to change at the discretion of the Organiser, up to the date of the launch of the Competition. The three Projects awarded by the jury, as well as the Project selected by the public, will be published on the Organiser's website: www.pbm-stairsdesignawards.fr

ARTICLE 8 - LES PRIX

Les Prix sont remis aux lauréats ou au mandataire de l’équipe de lauréats, par virement bancaire, dans les jours suivants la cérémonie de remise des Prix. Les Prix distribués aux lauréats se répartissent de la manière suivante :

2ème Prix : 5 000 €
3ème Prix : 2 500 €
Prix du public : 1 500 €
